Holy Family, c. 1640 - c. 1650 This sculpture group of a father, mother and child, represents the Holy Family. On a naturalistic surface, Maria and Joseph walk side by side with their son between them. The couple holds the hands of the Christ child to help him walk. They seem to be about to play the toddler playfully up a bit. Maria is wearing a robe with a belt under a wrap around the waist. She walks on sandals and braided in her, a headscarf is used. Jozef wears contemporary clothing, boots and a hat with a belt. He has beaten a cloak around his right shoulder. The Christ child runs barefoot and wears a contemporary shirt with rolled up sleeves. The substrate and the three figures are cut separately, in addition the arms and Joseph's hat are set separately. The eyes of the three figures are inlaid with black glass.
