Sydney transport official say they cannot understand why people battle their way across George-street from Wynyard at peak hours when they could walk in comfort through a pedestrian tunnel which comes out in Hunter-street. These photographs were taken at a peak hour. Pedestrians say they do not use the tunnel because they have to descend steps to get to it, and it is *****, frequented by drunks. June 22, 1947.
