U.S. Air Force Guardian Angel” Pararescue forces are airdropped into the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Cape Canaveral near Kennedy Space Center in Florida to rehearse a full mission profile training exercise on April 27, 2019. The exercise included using a Boeing CST-100 Starliner training capsule to run through the necessary steps in the unlikely event of an emergency resulting in a splashdown. NASA and the Department of Defense (DoD) Human Space Flight Support Office Rescue Division conducted the training, which included rehearsing assisted egress, extracting DoD team members acting as astronauts, from the capsule and providing immediate medical treatment. This open-ocean exercise provides team members with the necessary training ahead of Boeing’s Crew Flight Test with astronauts targeted for later this year. NSW Center restarted paused portions of its SEAL and Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewman (SWCC) selection-and-assessment training following careful planning that included implementing COVID-19 mitigation efforts based on CDC recommendations and Department of Defense medical guidance. The health, safety and well-being of students remains NSW Centers top priority. Any student showing signs of illness will be removed from training and evaluated by medical professionals before returning to training. 221001-O-LW180-1011-GR NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY SOUDA BAY, Greece (Oct. 01, 2022) Military service members and personnel from Commander, Task Group 67.4, Hellenic Naval Base in Souda, the Hellenic Air Forces 115th Combat Wing, NATO Maritime Interdiction Training Center, Naval Support Activity (NSA) Souda Bays Fire & Emergency Services, and NSA Souda Bays Ward Room participated in NSA Souda Bays 19th Annual Eco-Challenge on Oct. 1. Eco-Challenge is a five-event, outdoor sports competition held across the Akrotiri Peninsula that is designed to build camaraderie and strengthen the U.S. relationship with NATO and Hellenic military partners. NSA Souda Bay is an operational ashore installation which enables and supports U.S., Allied, Coalition, and Partner nation forces to preserve security and stability in the European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility.
