HSC-3 is the West Coast MH-60S fleet replacement squadron, responsible for training pilots and aircrewmen by providing the most capable warfighters to the fleet.

PEARL HARBOR (June 26, 2022) Sailors and Marines assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) render honors to the USS Arizona Memorial during Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2022. Twenty-six nations, 38 ships, four submarines, more than 170 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 29 to Aug. 4 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans. RIMPAC 2022 is the 28th exercise in the series that began in 1971.

Opened in 1911, NSGL is the Navys largest training installation and the home of the Navys only Boot Camp. Located on over 1600 acres overlooking Lake Michigan, the installation includes 1,153 buildings with 39 on the National Register of Historic Places. Timothy Cottell, a native of Monroe, Connecticut, communications capabilities integration officer, Combat Development Directorate, Combat Development and Integration, is being awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal from U.S. Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Arthur J. Pasagian, commander, Marine Corps Systems Command, a native of New York, New York, at the National Museum of the Marine Corps, Triangle, Virginia, April 8, 2022. Cottell received the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for his heroic actions during an annual training exercise on Dec. 10, 2019. Cottell saved the life of a Marine by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Stewart was assigned to the USS Oklahoma, which sustained fire from Japanese aircraft and multiple torpedo hits causing the ship to capsize and resulted in the deaths of more than 400 crew members on Dec. 7, 1941, at Ford Island, Pearl Harbor. Stewart was recently identified through DNA analysis by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) forensic laboratory and laid to rest with full military honors.
