A color guard from Naval Station Norfolk presents the colors during a retirement ceremony for Captain Zoah Scheneman. The ceremony was held on the fantail of the decommissioned Iowa-Class Battleship, USS Wisconsin (BB 64) and hosted by the Hampton Roads Naval Museum. Captain Scheneman served aboard the Battleship from 1988 to 1991 during Wisconsins reactivation and subsequent deployment to support Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm respectively. GREAT LAKES, Il. (April 25, 2022) Sailors and civilians from Administration department and Public Affiars department pose for a group photo. Opened in 1911, Naval Station Great Lakes (NSGL) is the Navys largest training installation and the home of the Navys only Boot Camp. Located on over 1600 acres overlooking Lake Michigan, the installation includes 1,153 buildings with 39 on the National Register of Historic Places. NSGL supports over 50 tenant commands and elements as well as over 20,000 Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, and DoD civilians who live and work on the installation.

BOSTON (April 5, 2022) Newly-promoted Aviation Structural Mechanic 3rd Class Jennifer Martinez, from Houston, poses with Culinary Specialist 1st Class Rose Fennell. USS Constitution, is the worlds oldest commissioned warship afloat, and played a crucial role in the Barbary Wars and the War of 1812, actively defending sea lanes from 1797 to 1855. During normal operations, the active-duty Sailors stationed aboard USS Constitution provide free tours and offer public visitation to more than 600,000 people a year as they support the ships mission of promoting the Navys history and maritime heritage and raising awareness of the importance of a sustained naval presence. USS Constitution was undefeated in battle and destroyed or captured 33 opponents. The ship earned the nickname of Old Ironsides during the war of 1812 when British cannonballs were seen bouncing off the ships wooden hull. VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (Feb. 7, 2017) Fire Controlman First Class Joshua Ross enters his Sailor of the Year (SOY) board during SOY week. The SOY program was established in 1972 by Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Elmo Zumwalt and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy John Whittet to recognize an individual Sailor who best represented the ever-growing group of dedicated professional Sailors at each command and ultimately the Navy. ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Apr. 5, 2022) The Honorable Meredith Berger, Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations and Environment, and performing the duties of the Under Secretary of the Navy, goes out on a Yard Patrol (YP) with midshipmen. The honorable Berger experienced first hand the training that goes into preparing midshipmen for the Navy. As the undergraduate college of our country's naval service, the Naval Academy prepares young men and women to become professional officers of competence, character, and compassion in the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.

PEARL HARBOR (Aug. 10, 2017) Machinist's Mate 2nd Class Ragan Anderson-Hennigan, assigned to the Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Jacksonville (SSN 699), proposes to his girlfriend during a homecoming arrival at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, after completing its final deployment. Jacksonville was commissioned on May 16, 1981 and was recently deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations and Indian Ocean. The submarine is scheduled to be retired from the fleet in 2018.

The Joint Armed Forces Color Guard and drummers from The U.S. Navy Band presented the colors before Super Bowl LVIII where the San Francisco 49ers took on the Kansas City Chiefs on February 11, 2024, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Sailors assigned to U.S. Navy Region Hawaii prepare to perform a 21-gun salute during an internment ceremony for U.S. Navy Fire Controlman 1st Class Hubert P. 220917-N-PL946-1082 ATLANTIC OCEAN (Sept. 17, 2022) Culinary Specialist 2nd Class Kendell Blount carries the remains of a deceased service member as a member of the burial at sea detail aboard the first-in-class aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78). During the ceremony, the cremated remains of 30 souls were committed to the sea in the Atlantic Ocean. Ford is underway in the Atlantic Ocean conducting carrier qualifications and workups for a scheduled deployment this fall.
