In One Of London's Deep Shelters: A general view of a section of the shelter. A Lift at the end of the passage people to safety from the "Buzz Bomb". The stretches seen on the right, is in case of emergency. Sleeping accommodation for 40,000 people will be provided when all the deep shelters in London are open to the public. Two of them are now in use and are equipped with the most up-to-date, canteens are provided where a good snack may be had at any time, medical first aid is available on the spot, etc. The shelters consist of two main tunnels, running beneath the existing tube railway lines.
