Anne-Cécile helps the patients by creating bespoke clothing and accessories that are adapted to the pathology and physical condition. The little girl has neither intestin nor colon and wears a central catheter for exclusive parenteral nutrition, as well as a gastrostomy button and an ileostomy (an artificial anus). This is the designers 4th visit. This time she has designed an accessory enabling the stomy to be carried more easily. The system will flatten the pouch without compressing it. She is also working on a vest in waterproof fabric, with a pouch to hold the catheter so that the little girl can shower normally.

Report from the Baby Lab research team at Paris Descartes University. This unit studies early speech perception and syntactic learning ability in newborns. Researchers use the NIRS (Near-InfraRed Spectroscopy) technique to measure brain activity. NIRS measures the concentration of oxygenated hemoglobin in the blood, which is closely correlated with the activation of neurons that consume oxygen. The NIRS is performed here in a maternity ward, on newborns aged 2 or 3 days.
