In the central, golden-convent cartouche, Ruth looks surprised at Boas, the owner of the Korenveld, who "caught her 'when harvesting. On the second plan there is another woman and at the back stacking a boy corners on a cart. This is flanked by small oval medallions in which a classic vase and larger windows filled with grapes, apples, pears, peaches and melon. The whole is equipped with floral garlands. On the back of the leaf in the middle a leaf and floral pattern. The frame with fourteen legs has a central cartouche with an arrow sleeve flanked by medallions with flowers. On the locking legs arrows jackets, garlands and fantasy motifs. In early fans the lacquered sticks were Chinese imports but around the end of the first quarter of the 18th century, the Europeans began created lacquered sticks to imitate the Chinese examples.
