The result of this project, referred to by Hutzel as Foto Arte Minore, is thorough documentation of art historical development in Italy up to the 18th century, including objects of the Etruscans and the Romans, as well as early Medieval, Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque monuments. Images are organized by geographic region in Italy, then by province, city, site complex and monument.

Anthracite Statue Was "Nightmare Of A Job" -- Believed to be the only statue in anthracite in the country, this fine bust of a miner has been "a nightmare of a job," says the sculptor, Mr. Attru Brown, Before he could start he had to tramp and crawl several miles underground in different pits to find a suitable piece of anthracite. The material has cracks running through it in all directions and can easily be broken in the fingers. Mr. Brown found this cut-throat razor one of the best tools for the work. The bust, for the National Coal Board, will be shown at the "Miner Comes To Town" Exhibition in London in September. August 25, 1947. (Photo by Mirror Features).

Wood Carvers Restore Priceless ***** Temple Screen. Mr. J. Pye of Finchley, 20 years a wood carver, works on figures for the Middle Temple Hall Screen. The priceless Hall Screen of London's Middle Temple, which was smashed by Enemy bombs during the recent war, is slowly being restored under the hands of skilled craftsmen. Completed in 1574 of English Oak, the screen was made and presented by Flemish Hugenot refugees, in gratitude for the sanctuary they found in England after the massaore of St.
