Uncle Wiggily Longears is the main character of a series of children's stories by American author Howard R. Garis (1873-1962). This illustration is from Gariss Uncle Wiggily and Alice in Wonderland and shows Uncle Wiggily and the Red Queen. Uncle Wiggily stories first appeared in the "News" in 1910, were syndicated in 1915, and continued to be published for more than forty years, at one time appearing in one hundred newspapers.
