On December 12, 1931 in the Building of Arts and Sciences (Mariaplaats 27) (732 to 733) with, among others, main explorer Rambonnet and chairman De Vos van Nederveen - Cappel.n.b. The country was a terrain of the genius on the Kromme Rijn that later became part of the Kromhout barracks. At the solemn presentation of the Swastika were present: Jhr. Van Panhuis (chairman), Mr. Van Es, Dr. Hamaker (head leader department Utrecht), skipper Ellerman (Watergroep De Scheepsjongen), Vaandrig Lamers and Hopman Rozendaal. The Golden Swastika was, in exceptional cases, awarded to non-members who have made themselves particularly deserving.

The tree is destined for Mrs Devereux and her daughter Jean, a present from Mrs Devereux's husband, currently serving overseas. The tree has been purchased through the 'Gifts to Home League' of the YMCA.
