A crowd watches President Franklin Roosevelt, during his inspection of the new Union Pacific Streamliners. The new M-10000 was a prototype for first streamlined internal-combustion passenger train. Popularly known as 'The Streamliner,' it was named 'City of Salina, and was in service from 1935 to 1941. Feb. 19, 1934.

A train clearer is responsible for ensuring that the timetable and the train scheme are held and is the one that assesses what measures should be taken in the event of deviations in train traffic. In the picture train clearer gives a signal that the train may resign from the station. Train clearers have winter uniform.
