1938 decree under which Jews were banned from all legitimate or motion-picture theatres, shows, concert and lecture halls, museums, amusement places, sport fields, public and private bathing establishments, and several prominent Berlin streets. This ban does not apply to Jews of foreign nationality. Jews residing in one of the prohibited streets may obtain special certificates from their police precincts permitting them to appear within the banned area. These certificates expire as of July 1st, 1939. Jews are further warned that more areas may be added to the list and are advised to look for apartments in Berlin's centre and north where many of the poorer Jews lived
