The interior, restored in 1776 and 1827, is neoclassical. Views in prints H-6 and H-9 show a small barrel-vaulted chapel with a modern main altar painting of the Last Supper. This is either the oratory or a misidentifed church interior. In contrast to the stark exterior, the interior views reveal a rich baroque remodelling. Shallow niched altars line the nave. Organs stand above the entrance and the main altar. Nuns, mid-1800s. Anonymous. Black and white chalk on gray laid paper; sheet: 18.8 x 21.2 cm (7 3/8 x 8 3/8 in.). In this drawing, a group of young nuns gather to pray. The unknown French artist used white chalk to delicately highlight the central figure with clasped hands. The work suggests the new style and subject matter that proliferated throughout France during the mid-19th century when an emerging middle-class audience became interested in collecting art and viewing it in exhibitions such as the Paris Salon.

As Moses commanded in the Old Testament books of Numbers and Deuteronomy, Jesus wears a prayer shawl as a sign of his adherence to the rituals of Judaism. Tissot derived this image from a larger watercolor in the series in which Jesus gives his last discourse to his disciples after the departure of Judas.
