Heralds Of Christmas -- Bathed in light that shadows the 13th century tracing of the old porch, youthful choristers, in their surplices and peaked caps, rehearse Christmas carols at the village church of St. Peter at South Weald, Essex. During the Christmas season the choir will sing carols at local hostelries and almshouses. The choristers are trained at the church school in the village under Miss D.M. Thompson. During the last war, ten thousand soldiers - who passed through a nearby camp - worshipped at the Church of St. Peter. December 6, 1949.

Holiday Camp Gets Going Again- Everyday Life at a Butlin's Holiday Camp, Filey, Yorkshire, England, UK, 1945 Campers at the Butlin's Holiday Camp at Filey take part in an open air Divine Service, which is conducted by the resident chaplain every Sunday morning. Hymn-singing is accompanied by a piano, which has been brought out onto the grass. The original caption states that these services are extremely well-attended.

Famous Polish Scientist Commemorated In A London Cemetery -- A memorial plaque to Sir Paul Edmund Strzelecki, C.B., K.C.M.G., F.R.C.S., the famous Polish explorer, scientist and Philanthropist, was unveiled on his tomb in Kensal Rise Cemetery today by the Rt. Hon. Mr. Victor Bruce, High Commissioner for Australia, when a memorial service was also held at the graveside. Sir Paul Strzelecki, surveyed and gave the name of Kosciuzsko to the highest peak of the Australian Alps in 1840.
