Sea of Japan (May 12, 2022) Expeditionary sea base ship USS Miguel Keith (ESB 5) and Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship USS Chief (MCM 14) conduct rafting operations during Exercise Noble Vanguard. Rafting operations extend the operational stay time of smaller units and provide non-traditional logistics in remote areas. Noble Vanguard serves as an enabler to reinforce tactics and techniques of different mission sets that contribute to regional stability.
