Alligator lays lifeless on the side of Interstate 10 in St. James Parish, one month following the 2016 historic flooding in Louisiana. As alligators rarely roam onto high traffic roadways, it's possible that this one was displaced by the flood, and then found temporary shelter in the slowly receding floodwaters before being filtered out a second time. In many disaster affected areas, specifically adjacent to the interstate near Baton Rouge, the water has taken over a month to recede, and some have still not fully receded..
