Flying Officer C 'Cheval' Lallemant, a Belgian pilot of No 609 Squadron RAF receiving the congratulations of members of his squadron after being decorated with the DFC at Manston, Kent. Lallemant finished his first tour of operations shortly afterwards. Later, in mid-1944, he returned to 609 Squadron as its commanding officer.

Denmark After Liberation, 1945 Guard of honour provided by members of the Royal Air Force Regiment and men of the local Danish Resistance at the ceremony in a forest clearing at Maarum, north of Copenhagen, to unveil a memorial to Flight Lieutenant R H Thomas and Flying Officer G J Allin who died when their Mosquito aircraft crashed at the site in September 1944. The memorial commemorated these two airmen and the work of the Royal Air Force in dropping arms and equipment to Danish resistance fighters who operated from the nearby forest. The memorial was raised by donations from local villagers and former members of the Danish resistance.

Royal Air Force Fighter Command, 1939-1945 King George VI meets the pilots of No. 111 Squadron RAF, accompanied by the Squadron Commander, Squadron Leader H Broadhurst, at Drem, East Lothian. The squadron moved later that day to Wick.

Detachment 101, an enigmatic Allied intelligence and special operations unit during World War II, played a pivotal role in the Burmese theater. Operating deep in the jungles of Burma, their mission was multi-faceted, encompassing guerrilla warfare, espionage, and sabotage against Japanese forces. Comprising a diverse group of individuals, from OSS agents to indigenous fighters, they effectively disrupted Japanese supply lines, gathered critical intelligence, and supported resistance movements.
