By way of test, the locomotive no. 1603 was provided with the city coat of arms of Amsterdam on one side and the weapon of The Hague on the other. Later the locomotives 1601 and 1650 were adorned with the city weapons of Amsterdam and The Hague respectively. The locomotive no. 1603 eventually got the weapon of Zutphen.
