High Schools United with NASA to Create Hardware (HUNCH) students from 6 schools meet at the U.S. Space and Rocket center in order to participate in the annual culinary challenge where students create meals suitable for astronaut use in space. Students in 2018 created different dishes for breakfast dining. Other NASA centers also participate in this program with the top 10 voted recipes being judged at Johnson Space Center.

During Super Safety and Health Day at KSC, keynote speaker Dr. Beck Weathers is given a memento of his visit by Center Director Roy Bridges. Weathers spoke about his ordeal of surviving the 1996 Mt. Everest disaster and the lessons learned from the experience. Safety Day is a full day of NASA-sponsored, KSC and 45th Space Wing events involving a number of health and safety related activities: Displays, vendors, technical paper sessions, panel discussions, a keynote speaker, etc. The entire Center and Wing stand down to participate in the planned events. YOKOSUKA, Japan (Feb. 5, 2023) - Japanese and American students collaborate in presenting a poster they made during the MOFA/DODEA Youth Exchange Program 2023 at Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosukas (CFAY) Yokosuka Middle High School, Feb. 5, 2023. During the two-day educational and cultural exchange event, American students from Nile C. Kinnick High School and Japanese students from various Yokosuka schools forged new friendships by tackling group projects together, strengthening the relationship between the base and local community. For 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.

Students from the YMCA in Nampa, traveled to Gowen Field on June 28 as part STARBASE-Idahos forensic science camp, where they explored how to solve imaginary crimes, including the study of human anatomy and how to make bite mark impressions, as well as the study of forensic entomology and fingerprinting. They also toured the Idaho National Guards 101st Civil Support Team and some of the units equipment used to detect and identify hazardous materials and weapons of mass destruction. More than 170 Idaho students from five different schools and agencies participated in STARBASE-Idaho summer camps this summer as the program expanded from a single camp for children of Idaho National Guardsmen to eight camps with three specially designed themes.

Bridgeport, Conn., May 1, 2013   Over 130 fifth grade students from Bridgeport's public schools were recognized on April 9 for completing the Student Tools for Emergency Planning (STEP) program. The STEP program was developed by FEMA, and is implemented by the State of Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, the American Red Cross and RYASAP (Regional Youth Adult Social Action Partnership). STEP's goal is to prepare families for multiple hazards by educating and energizing students to act as leaders in their homes by implementing key preparedness strategies with their families.
