Alexander Graham Bell's Design Sketch of the Telephone

This photograph shows a 15 cm incendiary shell used during World War I by the Chemical Warfare Service. The shell contained yellow phosphorus and paraffin wax to create a fire. This specific model had an elevation of 15 cm and a weight of 3-400 grams (21-364 mm).

Model of an Anemoscope, used to identify wind direction; based on a drawing by Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519), Italian artist and polymath; Codex Arundel folio 241 r. It consists of a wooden frame holding a vane rotating on a pin, with a round head at one end and a two-pronged tail at the other. As the vane turns, it shows the exact direction of the wind.
