$Making The British Ten Ton Bomb -- After the frame work for the core of one of the devastating British ten ton bombs has been made, it is covered with a mixture of refractory facing paste and is then lowered into the mould from which the final casing is made. The core is constructed to fine measurements, and must occupy accurately the internal form of the bomb. Record Order From Britain's Atomic Industry.Loading trays containing ammonium diuranate, raw material of nuclear fission, on to trolleys at Springfield. From the trolleys, the trays are placed in the GEC Furnaces, resulting in the formation of solid uranium tetra fluoride.Details have been released today (Monday) of an order for atomic equipment worth about $500,000 placed by the Ministry of Supply with the General Electric Co. Ltd.The equipment is for use in the conversion of pure ammonium diuranate to metallic uranium and these pictures show some of the plant in use at the Ministry's Spring field factory near Preston, Lancashire. German prisoners in Britain post-World War Two. Rolling dough for the camp's bread, a highly skilled job performed by prisoners who were all bakers before the war, with excellent results. The ILN writes that the prisoners have only one real complaint - uncertainty, and that at the time of writing the British Government had not yet announced its future plans even though hostilities ceased over a year before. Milk Production- Dairy Farming in Wartime, Norfolk, England, UK, 1944 In the dairy, a dairyman empties a small churn of milk into the cooling system. The original caption states that the dairy is kept separate from the cowshed and is kept 'scrupulously clean'. Milk is cooled in the dairy and stored there in churns until it is ready to be transported to the towns.

After being fatally stunned, the cattle at the Chicago stockyards are chopped into pieces and all their usable parts separated. Date: 1911
