Wall panel with poetic scenery of autumn China late 18th century This panel is a rare and extraordinary example of cloisonné enamel work created by the imperial workshops in Beijing during the late eighteenth century. The exceptional tonal range and gradation of color in the enameling and the particularized shapes of the finely tooled metal cloisons indicate a level of craftsmanship only achieved in the imperial workshop. The intricately described blue-and-green style landscape with its keenly observed details was undoubtedly based on a pictorial model created by an artist attached to the imperial painting academy. Finally, the poem, incised into the surface on the top part of the panel, was composed by the Qianlong Emperor. It follows a brushed model provided by the Chinese scholar official Yu Minzhong (1714-1779), who served as chief grand councilor as well as editor and scribe to the emperor. Marguerite Zorach conceived and executed her embroideries as major aesthetic statements at a time when the medium was routinely considered craft,” as opposed to fine art,” thereby erasing such distinctions. One of her most acclaimed works, The Family is a celebration of domesticity in harmony with nature, presenting the artist, her husband, and their son with an evergreen tree and four pairs of animals.

Folding impairment, consisting of a frame of Ajour and embossed sliced ivory painted with watercolor and a leaf of leather, on which a forest and river landscape with three nymphs has been painted with a gouache and a house at the rear at the rear there is a house between a bossage. The leaf is mounted à l'Anglaise. The cows extremely left are probably a reference to the Beotia region, literally the 'cow country'. It is a fertile area existing area in Central Greece. Here the worship of the Chariten would have arisen that would later spread throughout Greece. These Chariten or Gratiën were goddesses of beauty and grace, which brought joy, beauty and creativeness to both the people and the gods. On archaic images, they were still shown as three loose, women-sandwiched women, but in the 3rd century BC. Folding Fan with Representation of a Royal Fireworks Display French 1781 The spectacular firework display painted so finely on this fan perhaps commemorates the birth of the new Dauphin, Marie Antoinette's son Louis Joseph on October 22nd, 1781, alluded to by the French royal arms to the right and the dolphins in the center. In Paris at this period, fan-making was shared between two distinct guilds: the spectacular ivory guards, carved and embellished with mother-of-pearl and gilding, were conventionally the domain of male artisans, whilst the delicately painted leaves were created by women artists.
