The glucose sensor enables Manuella to check blood sugar levels regularly and easily, by scanning with the device. The insulin pump, controlled by another device, gives Manuella insulin throughout the day. Thanks to this device, she can add a bolus of insulin depending on her diet. At high school she has to cope with controlling her blood sugar levels and administering insulin herself. During her sports lesson her pump developed a problem. She goes to the infirmary to set up a new pump. She fills the new pump with insulin.

Reportage at Pause Diabolo, a risk reduction centre for drug users, in Lyon, France. Pause Diabolo sees drug users as part of a national French policy to reduce health hazards. This multidisciplinary helps deals with all aspects of life that are affected by drug use. It involves making risk reduction equipment available, helping with access to care, hygiene help, social mediation and helping gain access to benefits as well as social and professional reintegration. Access to risk reduction equipment is possible during opening house. The centre hands out sterile equipment and recovers used equipment. KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. -- In the Thermal Protection System Facility, Pilar Ryan, with United Space Alliance, stitches a piece of insulation blanket for Atlantis's nose cap. The blankets consist of layered, pure silica felt sandwiched between a layer of silica fabric (the hot side) and a layer of S-Glass fabric. The blankets are semi-rigid and can be made as large as 30 inches by 30 inches. The blanket is through-stitched with pure silica thread in a 1-inch grid pattern. After fabrication, the blanket is bonded directly to the vehicle structure and finally coated with a high purity silica coating that improves erosion resistance.
