Coast Guardsman Finds a "Souvenir". Coast Guardsman Alvah V. Hoff, seaman first class, of South Bound Brook, New Jersey, examines giant old-fashioned anchors discovered among the ruins on the beach of Kwajalein atoll in the Marshall Islands. They would hardly do for souvenir watch charms. Coast Guardsmen manned many of the landing barges that carried fighting men and material to the beaches in the Marshalls invasion.
