The British Reoccupation of Burma Lieutenant Hyuga, camp interpreter and one of the Japanese officer prisoners of war held at Insein near Rangoon, receives his orders for the day from camp commandant Captain A C Jenkins. Held at the camp were seventeen generals, three colonels, three lieutenant colonels, five majors, three captains, five lieutenants, twenty three other ranks and one naval captain. A number of these men were suspected war criminals.

The socks arrive in huge bales, like the ones on which the men are leaning, and his American boots have been repaired and re-built by British firms.
