December 31, 1965 - Marine Advisors Captain Willien H. Bond and Captain Robert R. Anderson inspect the utilization of a 75mm pack howitzer at the 4th Vietnamese Marine Battalion headquarters near Saigon. Only two of these rare howitzers exist in the battalion, with a total of eight known to be in Vietnam.

August 18, 1965: Troop drop and air supply activities in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Following the troop lift, helicopters began transporting six Howtars, a mortar and howitzer combination, to support positions on the battlefield.
