Riding Coat of Ernst Casimir I, anonymous, in or before 1632 Equestrian of gray wool with standing board and shoulder valves, decorated with buttons and button holes of metal wire, probably worn by Ernst Casimir during the siege of Roermond. Model: Very loose -fitting jacket, which can be worn as a cape or as a coat with wide sleeves. The jacket consists of two front, two rear and two side buildings, all - with the exception of the back properties - closing with buttons and button holes. The closure in the middle front has 52 buttonholes, which in the side seams 40. The button holes are founded with linen or cotton. Under the buttons there is a siege of coarse woven linen, while an extra siege of roughly woven linen has been applied to the button holes. All buildings are cut around the hem. The jacket is - entirely according to the then fashion - on the chest to the sleeve holes, closely cut and from there sliced out. The material is a very densely woven woolen fabric in rip binding;

Date: ca. 1928.Jeanne Lanvin was apprenticed to a milliner and a dressmaker before opening her own millinery shop in 1889. She expanded into dressmaking when her clients began asking for the ensembles in which she adorned her daughter, Marguerite di Pietro (1897-1958). Her style embodied the femininity of youth in a most modern way with meticulous and relatively sparse surface embellishments and robe de style silhouettes, which could be worn by women of all ages. Lanvin's aptitude can be seen through her house's 1920s expansion into fur, lingerie, men's wear, household goods and perfume. She even had the forethought to open her own dye factory which produced the inimitable 'Lanvin blue.' Vest 1800-1810 probably British Waistcoats of the 18th and 19th centuries served as a layer protection and ornamentation during a period in fashion when the coat was intended to be left open in the front. The color was often chosen to complement the suit and covered in imaginative embroideries, heavily woven patterns or shiny satins made to draw the eye. The style of the neck, the length and the hem treatment fluctuated as the tastes changed from over-sized coats of the early 18th century to narrow tightly fitted coats of the late 18th century and onward.This very elegant vest is indicative of the taste for very high stand collars alongside double-breasted waist-length styles which came into focus near the end of the 18th century. The use of satin is flashy next to the elaborately embroidered waistcoats of the previous century, and shows their fashionable continuation as a decorative element in the male wardrobe. Gussets below the arm were used to allow freedom of movement while the gusset on the shoulder assisted with fit, allowing the fabric to not pull tightly through the neck and chest.
