A Village Saves- National Savings in Lewknor, Oxfordshire, England, 1941 Joan Hartwell brings in sixpence as part of Savings Day at the village school in Lewknor. Her teacher, Mrs Scott, notes her contribution down in a ledger and prepares to give Joan her savings stamp. Behind them, other children queue to hand in their savings.

First Lesson For The Quads: Seen with other pupils at Cuckoo Hal Lane School, are the Taylor quads engrossed in their first lesson, painting, watched by their teacher Miss Pamela Perrin of Tottenham. The quads seated round the table are (left to right) Robert, Paul, Annette and Kevin (suitably "labelled" for identification purposes).Those famous four children, the Taylor quads, set out form their Mottingham Road, (Edmonton) home this morning with mixed feelings. For today, Annette, Robert, Kevin and Paul, who were years old last week, reached another milestone in their young lives and became pupils at the Cuckoo Hall Lane School (Edmonton), which they attended for the first time this morning.
