Maurice Rouvier (1842 - 1911), arrives at his office with his chauffer and automobile. Rouvier was a French statesman of the "Opportunist" faction, who served as the Prime Minister of France, from January 1905 - 13 March 1906. He is best known for his financial policies and his unpopular policies designed to avoid a rupture with Germany.

Car history. The french car manufacturer Renault and one of their cars as a taxi on a Paris street. On this picture from 1914, many taxi cars were used to transport troups to the Battle of Marne in september. Already 1905 were taxidrivers using taximeter in their cars that calculated the price depending on the time and distance.
