Despite the hardships they had to endure before their reunion in Caligara, Leyte, could take place after 15 years of separation, Coast Guardsman Precioso M. Nicanor and his wife are grateful. Before the plain board altar in their battered church they offer their thanks. It's been a long, hard road since school teacher Nicanor left his wife and home to make his way in the United States. Coast Guardsman Nicanor, yeoman, second class, has a job to do. "I have been away too long. After the war I'll be back," he says simply, but with obvious sincerity.

Gibbes has recently arrived in the U.K. from the Middle East where for two years he commanded the famous Royal Australian Air Force Fighter Squadron which had to its credit more aircraft destroyed than any other unit in the Middle East. NEW YORK  Sailors from Fleet Weather Center - Norfolk met former Aerographer’s mate Second Class Lucille Posner who served in the Navy during World War Two.  She attended boot camp in the old Hunter College Campus (which is now Bronx Community College, both part of the City University of New York) in August of 1943.
