Attending were Mr. John McCloy, President of the International Bank of Reconstruction and Development and Mr. Camille Gutt, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, and the meeting held special significance for Britain after last night's announcement that she had applied to the Fund for a loan of 60,000,000 dollars (£15,000,000) which must be repaid in dollars at the interest of 1/4 percent, after the first three months, rising to a maximum of 20 percent, in ten years. Jim Griffiths, Minister Of National Insurance -- The Rt. Hon. James Griffiths.......J.P., M.P. (Labour, Llanelly), Minister of National Insurance, photographed to-day, Tuesday, in his office at the Ministry of National Insurance, London. Known to thousands of miners as "Jim", the Minister was a misers' agent for several years, President of the S. Wales Miners' Federation from 1934-1936 and Member of the Executive Committee of Miners' Federation of Great Britain during the same period. He has been a Member of the National Executive Committee of the Labour Party since 1939 and was appointed Minister of National Insurance by Mr. Attlee in 1945. May 14, 1946.
