Proof Machine Bank of N.S.W., Sydney. This unique machine has just been installed at the head office of the Bank of New South Wales in Sydney. Known as a Proof machine it is the first of its particular kind3 in Australasia. Its installation with an £ sd keyboard is the first in the world. Built in Germany the machine has a great value in business systems. It will be used at first to help in sorting and listing the great quantities of cheques passing through the bank's main clearing offices.

The Telephone Service Carries On, London, January 1942 Upon arrival at the Emergency Telephone Bureau, this businessman is able to make a telephone call in response to a message he received from the messenger service, at one of the many coin-operated telephones at the bureau. This means that business can continue, despite the loss of his own telephone system in an air raid.

This is the man who receives the S.O.S. call. There is always a radio operator on duty. He is the man who starts the Air Sea Rescue Service moving by passing calls for help to the operations officer.
