Photo album about the life of the Gonggrijp family in Suriname around 1912. Photo album with a light brown front of paper. The album has 12 sheets of brown cardboard with a total of 65 photos and is held together with a string. The album contains various topics such as festivities on April 19, 1912 in Paramaribo, on the large square and along the waterfront. In the album, photos of Oom George Gonggrijk are in Suriname who would acquire great fame in the Dutch East Indies as "the free lifter", a pseudonym that he used for his columns in the Bataviaasch Handelsblad. Also pictures of the tennis club in Paramaribo, ships, family and friends, Plantation Clevia and Morgenstond and from the city of Paramaribo. On one of the pictures, Andries is in hand with photo camera.

The bracts are made of green changeant with an edge decoration of French lilies in gold pressure. The album contains 99 sheets with gold on cut, each containing one to three photos. The album is part of an Ensemble of Vier with which the construction of the new Louvre was documented step by step between 1854 and 1857 on behalf of the French government. The albums were offered as representation copies to the emperor, friendly heads of state, ministers (such as the copy of the Rijksmuseum) and libraries. 36 of such sets were compiled, each with around 550 photos. Travel album with pictures of sights in Italy (part I); Italy. I .. Photo album in brunette leather strap, on the Voorplat, the title 'Italy adopts in copper letters. I. ". The rear platform is equipped with five copper buttons. The blades have a flower and leaf motif. The band contains fifty album sheets of gold and fifty photos. All prints are framed by a handwritten frame. They are recordings of places of interest in Florence. , Pisa, Rome and Vatican City, such as city and street faces, squares and buildings. Also some recordings of art objects including images, paintings and a fresco. The album has a sequel to "italy. II. ". In view of the location of the album manufacturer (The Hague), both parts are probably composed by a Dutch traveler.

The front and back and the back tape are decorated with geometric and plant motifs in relief. The bracts are also golden with this kind of motifs. The album contains 94 magazines with a total of 50 photo 'of landscape, city and village views in France, Italy, Greece and Turkey, including Paris, Athens, Istanbul, Smyrna and Ephesus. Centrally on the front, the word 'travel memories', an indication is that the compiler of the album was possible Dutch or Flemish. The recordings of children, horses, houses, boats and beach scenes are in all likelihood in the United States and date from the 1900-1920 period.

The album contains 5 cabinet photos and 36 cartes-de-visiting in passe-partouts framed by golden lines or images of historical performances. Not all passe-partouts are filled. At the back of the album there is a play box that could be activated with the closure. Immediately depicted are portraits of unknown men, women and children, a face on a church and a face on a pulpit. The photos were taken by various English photographers, including H. Mace, Thomas Ayers and J. Stangroom. The photographer is anonymous of 9 photos.
