Man, Is Sent For Trial -- Ross Parker Says He Made Payments to Producer.Roy Speer, producer of the B.B.C.'s "Educating Archie" and "Starlight Hour" programmes, was sent for trial, on bail, from Bow-street to-day on four summonses under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1906. He was summoned under the name of Roy Francis Powys Malise Speer, of Pem-broke-square, Kensington. The summonses, each involving a sum of £20, alleged that Speer " being an agent of the B.B.C., unlawfully obtained from Albert Rostron Parker - Ross Parker, the song writer-for himself a gift or consideration, as an inducement or reward, for forbearing to show disfavour in relation to the affairs of the corporation. Lady Cripps At Her Husband Cremation In ***** - Lady Cripps, with her son, Mr John Cripps entering the chapel here for the cremation arrived of Six Stafford Cripps, former British Chancellor of the Exchequer, who died in the Bircher - Benner clinic here on Monday. Sir Stafford would have been 63 years old to-day. The cremation service was being conducted by the Rev Thomas Dixon, chaplain of the English church in ***** Lady Cripps will be taking Sir Stafford's ashes to England where a memorial service will be held.
