The "Golden Eagle", The First Of The New Streamlined Super-Pacific Engines --  Our photograph shows the new streamlined super-Pacific engine "Golden Eagle" which is intended to work the London North Eastern Railway's "Coronation" and other streamlined expresses later in the year. She made her maiden trip on January 6. Working the Edinburgh express from King's Cross to Newcastle. This train was selected for the test as it is one of the heaviest and fastest trains of the day out of King's Cross, London. The train is seen passing Hadley Wood.
