The Education Is General -- Primarily Dartmouth is an educational establishment. The last of the 13-year-old intakes came in May, 1949. They stay, for 32 terms and will carry their academic learning to about Matric standard. From now on lads will join at 16 (special entry from secondary schools) and will complete their education whist they absorb the Naval tradition during six terms at the College. Lads from Public Schools, held to have completed their general education join for one term and concentrate on the Naval angle. December 01, 1949.

Medford, Massachusetts:  March 26, 1922 Tufts College has the first radio faculty in the country. Thirteen faculty members will give their lectures through the radiophone at the American Radio and Research Corp. plant. The lectures will reach 35,000 people ar far west as Wisconsin and as far south as Florida. Here Dr. Arthur Andrews is delivering his lecture, 'Changes In Europe'.

Mrs Sophia Bryant (born Willoch - 1850-1922) English mathematical scholar and teacher. In 1875 she joined the staff of the North London Collegiate School for Girls. She became assistant to Miss Buss, the founder of the school whom she succeeded as Headmistress in 1895. The first woman to be awarded the degree of Doctor of Science by London University.
