U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Vicksburg District engineers were on site at the O.B. Curtis Water Treatment Plan, Sept. 1, 2022, after receiving a FEMA ESF#3 mission assignment to perform initial assessments of the pumping system and electrical system. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in coordination with FEMA is committed to working with our federal, state, and local partners to provide assistance to the citizens and City of Jackson, Mississippi. High School and College students from around the U.S. came together at Bragg Farms in Toney, Alabama for the 2019 Student Launch Initiative. The students launched their rockets to their own predetermined altitude with various payloads including remote rovers and unmanned aerial vehicles.

NASA's mobile launcher atop crawler-transporter 2 travels slowly along the crawlerway on Sept. 7, 2018, on its way to the Vehicle Assembly Building at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. During a portion of the trek, several NASA astronauts were aboard the mobile launcher for a birds eye view. The 380-foot-tall mobile launcher is equipped with the crew access arm and several umbilicals that will provide power, environmental control. Pneumatics, communication and electrical connections to the agency's Space Launch System and Orion spacecraft. Exploration Ground Systems is preparing the ground systems necessary to launch SLS and Orion on Exploration Mission-1, missions to the Moon and on to Mars.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. - On a drawing of a solid rocket booster (SRB), Mark Northcraft, with United Space Alliance, points to the spot where a parachute camera will be installed, on the forward skirt of the SRB.  The work is being done in the Solid Rocket Booster Assembly and Refurbishment Facility, which routinely carries out refurbishment and subassembly of Shuttle SRB hardware.

The core stage for the first flight of NASA's Space Launch System rocket is seen in the B-2 Test Stand behind NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine ahead of a scheduled eight minute duration hot fire test, January 16, 2021, at NASA's Stennis Space Center near Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. The hot fire test is the final stage of the Green Run test series, a comprehensive assessment of the Space Launch System's core stage prior to launching the Artemis I mission to the Moon.
