Nonetheless, the 1969 image shows three officers, Captains L.H. Platt, W.H. Chatfield, and R.F. Willes, who are commanding companies E and F of the 78th Division's 309th Infantry. The photograph was taken in France, where the troops were stationed during the cholera outbreak. The image bears the mark of the AEF censor from an undisclosed date.
