Men of the 35th Coast Artillery, 80th Division, polish the breech of a 340mm gun, equivalent to a 13.9-inch American gun. This mobile railroad gun required a crew of 22 men, but during the drive, it was manned by 122 men. It cooperated with aerial observation to target German Army Corps headquarters near a railhead 30 kilometers away. Four hits were reported from four shots fired.
