President Wilson photographed on Potomac Field during the first aerial mail service between New York City and Washington, DC. The service began on May 15, 1918, and was carried out by Major R.H. Fleef, who piloted the first regular aero mail plane. The trip from Bustleton Field to Washington took one hour and fifty-five minutes of actual flying time. Censored and released on May 18, 1918, by the Historical Branch, W.P.D.

German man receiving rations during World War One in Pettingen, Luxemburg. The man, Joan de Train, weighed 102 kilos before the war but dropped to 75 kilos by November 1918. Rations included 200 grams of meat for seven days, a pound of butter for 15 days, 275 grams of black bread per day, and minimal supplies of milk, sugar, and other non-essential items.
