Were These "Flying Saucers": From all parts of Kentucky U.S.A., many persons reported they saw three luminous objects flash across the Northern sky from East to West about 10.35.p.m. (cst) The weather bureau at Louisville, Kentucky, July 8th., said most callers termed the objects "Flying Disks". or "Flying Saucers", but the bureau had no explanation. A "Fantastic Weapon" Is On Its Way. A U. S. Air Force Martin B-61 Matador pilotless bomber takes off with the roar, black smoke and the white heat of its rocket auxiliary thrust. The Matador is currently under advanced development at the Air Force's Missile Test Center, Cocoa, Fla., and the first ***** to be trained in field use of the weapon is soon to be activated. The United States Air Force's new F-84F "Thunderjet" fighter airplane is shown during a recent test flight in the United States, with 24 five-inch high velocity aircraft rockets mounted under its wings for use in support of ground troops.
