First lieutenant kite J.H.F. (Hans) Könings (1949-1980) for a Northrop NF-5 from the 315 Squadron in democleids. In 1979 and 1980, Könings provided solo demos with this device on several air shows. His kite runway came to dramatically when he died deadly on July 22, 1980 during a practice demo on Gilze-Rijen.

Luftwaffe Ace Visits Farnborough Show -- General Adolf Galland at Farnborough air show on Thursday.General Adolf Galland, No. 1 fighter ace of Goering's  Luftwaffe who claims to have shot down 104 aircraft visited the Farnborough air show on Thursday. It was his first time in Britain since he became a prisoner near the end to the war. Galland, 43, became the youngest general in the Luftwaffe, holds the Iron Cross and was personally congratulated by Hitler for his escapades.At Farnbourough Galland is reported to have asked if he could fly the Gnat - the world's first high speed light fighter. Permission was refused because the Gnat is the only one of its type. But possibly Galland may be allowed to fly a Midge which was the forerunner of the Gnat. September 9, 1955.
