Relief block depicting plucking and roasting fowl and herds crossing water ca. 1962-1952 B.C. Middle Kingdom The upper register of the block depicts the plucking and cooking of geese, while the lower scene shows cattle being led through the marshes. The block was found reused as the threshold of a house at the site of Lisht North; the rectangular hole in the upper left corner was cut to receive one of the doorposts. Stylistic and iconographic features indicate that the relief comes from one of the Dynasty 12 mastabas at the site.. Date: ca. 1353-1336 B.C..The large figure of the king, at the left, and the smaller figure of a young woman offering bread loaves appear to be participating in two different scenes. The sidelock of hair would usually identify the girl as a princess, but here, the inscription behind her reads "the nurse of the king's daughter Ankhesenpaaten, Tia," and it seems likely that this is a representation of the nurse. Block depicting Niankhwadjet from the frame of the false door niche of her husband Mery ca. 2575-2520 B.C. Old Kingdom On the large, vertical block of relief, Niankhwadjet inhales the scent of a lotus, associated with rebirth because the flower opens each morning for the sun. Her daughter Djefaibi, one hand on her chest in a respectful gesture, clings to her mother's leg. On the perpendicular surface at the right may be seen part of the figure of Mery, Niankhwadjet's husband and the owner of the mastaba in which these chapel reliefs were found. A portion of a lintel block (67.50) gives some of Mery's priestly and administrative titles. These two blocks originally formed part of a deep niche in a double recessed false door. The figure of Mery would have been seen on the front of the door frame of one niche, and his wife would have appeared on the inner side, where she would have flanked yet another figure of Mery. Limestone relief end of the 6th century B.C. Cypriot The relief depicts Herakles rustling the cattle of Geryon. Recognizable by the lionskin falling over his back, the hero stands at the far left. In the upper register, Geryon's three-headed dog has an arrow in one neck. In the lower register, Eurytion, the herdsman, is characterized as uncivilized by his satyrlike features and by the stone and tree that he uses as weapons. Geryon's herd is represented with particular attention to the calves in the foreground and the lead animals that look back. Since this relief as well as the statues of Geryon and Herakles were all found near the temple of Goloi, the question arises whether they were originally associated in some way.. Wild fowl. The birds on the frieze may have represented sacrificial offerings to the deceased in whose honour the building was constructed. Cockerels also appear on the east side of the tomb of Kybernis. Evidence suggests that it was a Lycian, and also Persian tradition to sacrifice cockerels at the tombs of heroes. Another slab of the same Frieze was found during more recent excavations and is now in Antalya Museum

Seated Osiris-Anedjty 285-246 B.C. probably Ptolemaic Period The Iseum, or temple of Isis, at Behbeit el Hagar in the central Delta was built as a great cult center for Isis, who was worshipped there as almost a primordial principle: thanks to her actions the resurrections and transformations of her husband Osiris were assured, and hence the birth and potency of their son Horus, the divine prototype of the king.The Iseum probably stood on the site of an earlier temple begun in the twenty-sixth dynasty. Nectanebo II built most of the great temple, and constructed it of dark granite, creating an imposing severe structure typical of thirtieth dynasty construction in the Delta. The king was able to decorate only one important chapel before the second Persian invasion. Work did not recommence until the reign of Ptolemy II, who completed the decoration of the sanctuary and chapels. Relief with the head of a female personification of an estate ca. 2551-2528 B.C. Old Kingdom This upper part of a female figure is the personification of one of Khufu's agricultural estates. The placement of the pharaoh's name on a crossbar with feathery protrusions in front and streamers at the back indicates that the figure has been assimilated to a standard, an emblem on a pole used to designate administrative entities. With the hieroglyphs behind the head, the name of the estate can be read "Perfect is Khufu." Estates were either extant or newly established settlements dedicated to providing for the funerary cult of the founder or for a temple. Rows of estate personifications lining the walls of Old Kingdom pyramid temples represented the provisioning of the king's eternity. The relief owes its dense, cohesive quality to the low rounded carving employed equally for the contour edges and for minute details.. A photograph taken of the Festival Hall of Thutmose III (Akh-menu) is an ancient shrine in Luxor (Thebes), Egypt. It is located at the heart of the Precinct of Amun-Re, in the Karnak Temple Complex. The Hall is situated at the end of the Middle Kingdom court. A photograph taken of the Abu Simbel Temple, in Nubia, Southern Egypt, near the border with Sudan. The complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple dates to the 13th century BC, during the 19th dynasty reign of the Pharaoh Ramesses II. It is a monument to the king and commemorates his victory at the Battle of Kadesh. The complex was relocated in its entirety in 1968 under the supervision of a Polish archaeologist, Kazimierz Michalowski, on an artificial hill made from a domed structure, high above the Aswan High Dam reservoir.

Temple of Edfu located on the west bank of the Nile River between Esna and Aswan, with a population of approximately sixty thousand people. Edfu is the site of the Ptolemaic Temple of Horus and an ancient settlement, Tell Edfu. The town is known for the major Ptolemaic temple, built between 237 BC and 57 BC, into the reign of Cleopatra VII.

Cast of an architrave of King Khafre. Fibreglass-reinforced epoxy resin, paint. Probably made for the court of his pyramid temple at Giza. The court was surrounded by a series of doorways and wide piers. This architrave would have bridged two piers so that the horizontal cartouche of Khafre surmounted a doorway. It reads The King of Upper and Lower Egypt, Khafra, son of Re. Dated 4th dynasty, ca 2520-2494 BC.
