The bowl of the pyxis is intact; the lid has been reconstructed from three fragments. a: The pyxis bowl has an inset rim, vertical sides, a slightly flared lower edge, and is decorated with a band of ivy leaves with an incised stem, yellow above and white below. The underside is reserved. b: The lid is flat with a raised band on top and a raised band in two degrees on the side. The top of the lid is decorated (from the outer edge) with a reserved band, wave on a raised band edged in black on its inner side, another reserved band and the head of a woman in profile to the left. She wears a stephane and patterned hair covering (kekryphalos) with a ribbon, a circular earring with a pendant, and a necklace. The profile of the eye is a black dot enclosed on three sides by black lines of varying length. In front of her forehead is a white alabastron; above is a Profile to the right of Henri V, Dogue and Fleur de Lys, around 1848 ". Etain, around 1848.
