The result of this project, referred to by Hutzel as Foto Arte Minore, is thorough documentation of art historical development in Italy up to the 18th century, including objects of the Etruscans and the Romans, as well as early Medieval, Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque monuments. Images are organized by geographic region in Italy, then by province, city, site complex and monument.

Funerary relief ca. 125-150 Inscription: (at right)1 Nesha, 2 son of 3 ... (at left)1 Belha, 2 (son of) Hashash. 3 Alas!Transliteration:1 nš?2 br3 …1 bl??2 ?šš3 ?blThis relief is a type of funerary monument characteristic of the prosperous caravan city of Palmyra during the first three centuries A.D. Reliefs with a representation of the deceased and a short identifying inscription were used to seal burial niches in elaborately decorated communal tombs; those with a half-length or bust format became prevalent sometime after A.D. 65. The relief depicts the upper body of a youthful, beardless man dressed in a Greek garment known as a himation, which wraps around his right arm like a sling, holding a small object, probably a schedula (book roll), in his left hand. His expression is serene, although the intensity of his gaze is emphasized by the large size of his eyes, the modeled eyelids, and the incised concentric circles indicating the iris and pupil of each eye. His hair is depicte

It was commissioned in 1565 and is by the sculptor Bartolomeo Ammannati, the design however was done by Baccio Bandinelli before he died. Angel (one of a pair) ca. 1690-1710 Hendrik-Frans Verbruggen Flemish One of a pair, with 1976.48.1, originally part of a shrine, altar or 'chaire', of moderate dimensions. Their attitude of turning toward a center of attention and the holes in the bottom each suggest that they were affixed at the sides and toward the top of an architectural composition, probably on the volutes. The soles of their feet are more anatomically researched and carefully executed than the tops, suggesting that they were meant to be seen from below. Their execution in the round suggests that they were meant to be seen from almost any vantage point. The twisting composition, elongated bodies and faceted carving are typical of Verbrugghen's style.. Angel (one of a pair). Hendrik-Frans Verbruggen (Flemish, Antwerp 1654-1724 Antwerp).
