Dimensions: L. 1.6 cm (5/8 in.). Dynasty: Dynasty 12 to early Dynasty 13. Reign: reign of Amenemhat III or later. Date: ca. 1859-1749 B.C..This exquisite openwork seal amulet takes the shape of a scarab beetle and bears the cartouche of Amenemhat III on its back. Below the king's name is an image of the god Bes flanked by two hippo goddesses. On the scarab's underside is a depiction of a hippopotamus hunt. The hunter stands on a small boat. With his arm extended backwards he is about to throw a harpoon at the hippo on the right, although the weapon itself is not represented in the limited space of the image. A rope that is attached to the harpoon is visible behind the man. In his other hand he holds several ropes that are already attached to the hippopotamus from previous successful throws. Interestingly there is no indication that the hunter is a royal person, despite the name of Amenemhat III on the back of the scarab achinese warming therapy. Brass gold weights were used to measure gold dust, the local currency in the Akan-speaking regions of southern Ghana and the Ivory Coast before the 20th century. This small, square weight has a relatively tall base and consists of a raised abstract rectangle with four linear pieces removed. It is a striking and dynamic composition in its simplicity and clean geometry. While interpretations of such abstract patterns are speculative, some do have parallels in architecture and textile design. Many probably relate to West African cultural items such as Adinkra symbols or are abstract interpretations of plants and animals.ñPermanent Collection Object Description. Copper alloy . These itineraries are often referred to by the term Silk routes’ but were in fact crucial to the movement of constellations of materials and objects, as well as people and ideas. The diverse population of Nishapur and its surroundings, from the better-researched elite groups of merchants, land-owning aristocracy, and literates, to the less-known artisans, farmers, miners, and servants, were instrumental in adapting global cultural trends to create their own distinctive visual languages. This is seen in the material remains of everyday life in medieval Nishapur - from pots and pans to lighting devices, inkwells, textiles and trimmings, jewelry, games and toys, talismanic devices, weapons, coins, and architectural fragments.Nishapur lost its pLetterpress-Buchstabe Z 3D aus gealtertem Metall Aged metal letterpress Letter Z 3D rendering illustration isolated on white background Copyright: xZoonar.com/MilicxDjurovicx 22691475
