Eisenhower the Supreme Commander Allied Forces in Europe, and General Omar N. Allied "Brain Trust" Meets On Western Front: These six men make up one large headache for the Nazi. They are the brain trust of the Allied forces now fighting their way into Germany on the road to Berlin. This picture was taken recently when these British, Canadian, and American commanders net in Holland to confer decorations on senior officers. They are, front row, left to right, Field Marshal Montgomery, General Eisenhower, Lt-Gen. Omar Bradley, who rend the citations, and back row, left to right, General H.D.G. Crerar, (Commanding the First Canadian Army), Lt.-Gen. William E.Simpson and Lt.-Gen. Sir Miles C. Dempsey. Paratroopers Mount Guard At Palace -- 'New Guard' A Corporal of the Parachute Company the new Guard reads the orders of the Guard to his sentry taking over from the Welsh Guard (in peaked cap) at the Palace this morning. Red berets took the place of peaked caps at the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace this morning (Tuesday) when for the first time in history the Parachute Regiment provided the guard. The Unit chosen was the 16 Independent Parachute Company (Guards) which was formed in England on July 1st 1948 from officers and men of the Brigade of Guards who were already trained parachutists and serving with the Parachute Regiment.
