The Macedonian Front (or Salonika front) of World War I was formed as a result of an attempt by the Allied Powers to aid Serbia, in the autumn of 1915, against the combined attack of Germany, Austria-Hungary and Bulgaria. This card appears to show a group of Bulgarian troops.     Date: 1917

Fennemore, photographer (American, 1849 - 1941) March 23, 1877 View of the crowd gathered for the execution of John Doyle Lee, the Mormon leader convicted of leading the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Lee, wearing a hat and scarf, sits on his coffin on the left side of the image, surrounded by a small crowd of men in a field. Other groups of men are gathered across the field, some on horseback, some with horse-drawn carts. (Recto, mount) lower center, below print, handwritten in pencil: "Execution of Lee the Mormon Bishop."
