A collection of ornate boxes and chests, featuring intricate designs, materials like lacquer and leather, and themes of nature, showcasing craftsmanship from various centuries.

Leather travel suitcase from Johan Rudolf Thorbecke ,, 1810 - 1850 High square leather with wooden frame and fabrics and paper interior. The leather is sober edited. The lid is hinged and lockable with a lock. There are two leather handles on both sides of which the upper has always been worn away. Everywhere, especially on the lid, there are remains of address and shipping stickers. In the middle is somewhere 'minister Thorbecke' in handwriting. Cup with a woman and two children around a fire, anonymous, c. 1800 Porcelain head with a clindric wall and C-shaped ear, painted on the glaze in email colors and gold. On the outer wall a course containing a performance of a woman with two children around a fire pot. On either side of the compartment a leaf vank with a rosette. Photo album Kriegsmarine. Small German military photo album from the Second World War compiled by a Kriegsmarine soldier. Folder of beige faux leather with an image of a boat at sea and a mill. Cord through the back. Interior consisting of 24 magazines with a total of 49 photos. Most pictures made in the Netherlands, often on the Afsluitdijk. The album also shows the accommodation of the Kriegsmarine (service set 23 443) and the sailors staying there, the sailors aboard their ship and various Dutch fishing vessels and inland vessels. Further photos of Dutch cities and villages, including Leeuwarden.
